In 1984, Connie Vrenios began her formal
training in metaphysics and natural healing, and very quickly
she became a teacher at a national school for metaphysics,
meditation, healing, and other disciplines.
In 1994, while living in Kailua-Kona with her
husband Rick, she began her training in Reiki and later became a
Reiki Master/Teacher. Already naturally gifted in massage,
she chose to attend AAMA and graduated as a Certified Massage
Therapist. She is considered by some to be one of the best
Reflexologists in the country, and she also has advanced
training in CranioSacral Therapy, Healing Touch and Kundalini-based
healing. In addition, she is an ordained reverend in the
Aquarian Church.
Her love for the Islands of Hawaii, its
language, its music, and its spirituality has given her the rare privilege of
studying within two native Hawaiian lineages concurrently.
In the Lineage of Lono, she studies with Kahuna Pule Lanakila
Brandt, and in the Lineage of Ku, she studies with
Kahu O Mana Ed Kaleolani Spencer.
In a traditional Inoa
Ceremony, Connie was named Kelakea, or "The Light of
Day", and it reflects her sunny personality that brightens
any room.
In 1996, Connie and group of peers founded
the Sedona Healing Group. This was a multi-discipline
healing practice, and they got their name because the group
formed on a trip to Sedona. As members of the Sedona
Healing Group moved into private practice, Connie and her
husband Rick co-founded the Reiki
Council in 1997 as a professional association, as a
publisher of art, educational materials, and books, and as a
source of continuing education for bodyworkers and energy
workers.
In 2004, they co-founded
Ke Ala Kahiko Center for Holistic Healing as the vehicle to
preserve and fulfill the cultural, spiritual, and healing wisdom
of the Hawaiian Nation.
Together, they developed the Reiki-ssage
System of Natural Healing, which has been featured in national
publications for its unprecedented therapeutic benefit.
With the success of Reiki-ssage, Connie became the major force
behind the creation of the Reiki-Reflex System of Reflexology, which has been called the
healthiest and most blissfully relaxing style of Reflexology for
both the practitioner and client.
Connie has served as Editor in Chief for
Reiki Council Publishing and has had a strong impact on all of
the products produced. She has written several published
articles and she is working with Rick on the new Chakra Wisdom
book coming out later this year from Red Wheel/Weiser Books.
Together, Connie and Rick teach classes
extensively in their Chicago area facility and in locations
throughout the U.S. and Europe. Their reputation for
excellence has drawn students from across the United States and
from many countries around the world. They are frequent
speakers for associations and professional organizations, and
have received the honor of being guest lecturers on Energy
Medicine and Mind-Body Health for Northwestern University
Medical School.
