Understanding What Information We Gather,
How It Is Used, and Who Has Access!

Your Privacy is Always a Top Priority

Aloha!  All relationships are based in trust, and we believe that it is our kuleana (responsibility) to uphold the trust that comes from mutual respect.  In this world of technology, this concept is becoming a rare ideal.  To us, it is essential to the health of all our futures, and therefore, your privacy is a top priority at Ke Ala Kahiko.

In our constant commitment to your protecting your privacy, we have a few fundamental rules within which we run our business.

  • We don't ask you for your personal information unless we truly need it.

  • We respect your rights! We want to send articles, newsletters, and advertisements only to people who ask for them. Therefore, our e-mails are broadcast only to people who opted-in (subscribed on our website, joined the membership, registered for a class, or made a purchase).

  • Subscribers can easily opt-out automatically so you don't need to rely on a human to do it for you. Plus, when you opt-out, you are opted out immediately. If you no longer wish to participate in our e-mail broadcasts, you can unsubscribe automatically using the forms clearly available on our website or using the links in the body of each broadcast e-mail.

  • We hate spam as much as you do! Therefore, we never sell, rent, share, or otherwise distribute your personal information with anyone... period.

  • On occasion, we may send e-mails about other people and services we believe you will find interesting. But, the e-mail will always come from us. The only exception to this personal mandate is if we are obligated to comply with the law, protect our rights, or develop our products and services.

  • We don't store information unless it is necessary for the ongoing operations of our business.

Based on the above mentioned principles, Ke Ala Kahiko is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Ke Ala Kahiko may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from October 18, 2021.

Records maintained off-line are kept in locked or "strong-password" protected areas of our office or computer system.  Access to those records are maintained under the guidelines of HIPAA (as in medical records) for your privacy.

How do we use cookies on our web site?

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyze web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site.

Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyze data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

From your side, cookies help your device interact more easily with the web site, such as remembering your account login information.  From our side, the data we receive is in the form of statistics reflecting how all visitors interact with pages and features on our web site.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
